Masterclass by our studio guest Kat Pino
In this masterclass, you'll learn everything about making ceramic plates. The course covers what makes a great plate, plate design considerations, what restaurants look for in tableware, and the biggest challenges potters face when making plates— and how to overcome them.
You'll learn about the infamous S-crack, compression techniques, the importance of slow drying, and how to use the wheel's centrifugal force to your advantage.
This masterclass is designed for potters with solid throwing and trimming experience. If you're comfortable centering 2 kg of clay and can consistently throw cylinders, this workshop is well suited to your skill level.
What you'll learn:
Firings:
Firings are not included in the workshop price.
Participants who wish to finish their pieces may return at a later date to trim them for an additional fee. The studio also offers a firing service.
